New Cell-Phone Laws Seek to Reduce Injury

Accident victims should always inquire whether potentially liable drivers were on a cellular phone during or before the accident. That way, who or what caused the accident can be determined with the utmost precision.

With the help of an attorney, cell-phone service providers may be required to forfeit evidence to help determine who is at fault. In other words, a judicial order (also called a subpoena) may force phone companies to release the date and time of text messages, emails and phone calls of an accident-causing driver.
